TOKOROA.
CHURCH OF ENGLAND COMMITTEE. A meeting of Church of England parishioners at Tokoroa was held recently, Mr. Chamberlain, Anglican curate at Putaruru, being present. It was decided to form a local church committee, and the following were appointed to it:—Vicar’s warden, Mr. J. R. Cocks; people’s warden, Mr. C. P. Lock; committee members, Mesdames Johnson, Dyer and McHale, Messrs. W. Walsh, and D. Carr Rollett (secretary). It was resolved that the committee offer its hearty co-operation to the Putaruru committee in the endeavour to establish a resident Church of England clergyman at Putaruru. FAT SHEEP. It is reported that the distinction of topping the market for fat ewes at Westfield was gained recently by the Matanuku Downs estate, Tokoroa, three truck loads of fat ewes from there, some 120 in all, bringing the highest price at the sale that week.-
