OFFERS FOR BUTTER.
Is 7d LB. FOR TWO MONTHS. Sale or Consignment. Speaking at the annual meeting of the Morrinsville Co-operative Dairy Company on Friday, Mr. R. J. McCausland, chai-rman of "directors, considered that the prospects for the coming season were bright and already offers of Is 7cl per pound f.o.b. had been made for the early season’s butter.
Mr. Hdtchman inquired if the directors were going to adopt a consignment policy or would they accept what they considered was a good offer ? Mr. McCausland said that the directors were considering the offer 1 of Is 7d and were watching the markets very closely. He, however, slated that the directors as a body favoured a consigning policy. Subsequent inquiries elicited the information that the offer of Is 7d per pound would have given to the suppliers a payment of approximately .Is 8d per pound. The offer was for the August and September manufacture.
