ENJOYABLE CONCERT. School Children’s Effort. The school concert, which was held in the local hall on the evening- of Wednesday, August 20, was a very enjoyable entertainment, and the proceeds should be very helpful towards starting- the school library. The programme, arranged by the teachers, included the followingitems:—•“ Nursery Rhymes,” by the tiny tots-; song, “ The Carnival,” Harry Flavell; song, “ Lots of Lickin’s,” Eric Flavell; recitation, “ Mother’s Errand Girl,” Dulcie Flavell; song, “ Ever So Long- Ago,” Elsa Gamble; song, “ Dolly’s Bedtime,” Renie Taylor; song, “ Little Marjorie,” Annie Clark; song, “ Little Aboriginee,” Stanley Armstrong; swingsong, by the tiny tots; “ Ten Little Nigger Boys,” by little boys; humorous song, “ Three Old Maids of Lee,” Mavis Boyd, Edna Ryali and Frances MacClelland; dialogue, “ A Visit to Betty,” by Louis Gamble and Iris Taylor; part songs, “ Loch Lomond,” “ Nellie Gray ” and “My Old Kentucky Home,” by the senior pupils; prologue, Iris Taylor and Colin Clark. The accompaniments were prayed in a very efficient manner by Mrs. Gamble, to whom are due many thanks for the amount of *time and energy spent during practices and the final concert. Mr. Taylor kindly acted as chairman . At the conclusion of the concert the floor was soon cleared and dancing was indulged in for an hour or two. MR. KELLOW BETTER. Mr. W. R. Keliow, guard on the Mokai-Kopokarahi section of the company’s railway, who met with an accident some six weeks ago, has now sufficiently recovered to resume work. TENNIS WEATHER. The weather, which has been fine for practically the last fortnight, has given some encouragement to the tennis players. Some promisingyoung players are showing up, while the more experienced ones appear to be well up to form.
