MEN RETURN TO WORK. General Resumption of Traffic. The Minister of Railways, replyingto the A.S.R.S. offer to negotiate, said the proposal was not acceptable to the Government, which could not depart from its decision that a proper decision on the question of wages cannot be arrived at without considering all the demands comprehensively and in their relation to one another. The secretary of the A.S.R.S. sent a reply that “ After full consideration they have decided that in the public interests and in order to prevent any further and more serious dislocation of the transport traffic of the Dominion the strike shalT be declared off in terms of your above-quoted letter. The same to take effect as fronijtonight, the 29th inr;t.”
