DAIRY FACTORY RETURNS.

JANUARY FIGURES, Effects of Dry Weather. The effect of the period of very dry weather upon the butter-fat production is reflected in the January returns from the five dairy factories in the Morrinsvillc and Matamata districts. Up till December tlie increases in the supplies over the past season had been considerable, having been greatly augmented by additional suppliers. The January figures, however, do not show such a rarge increase and in two cases there have been slight decreases. The Richmond Downs factory still maintains a 50 per cent increase, Tatua’s supply is still about 12 per cent above that of the previous season, and Morrinsville shows a slight increase, but both the Sunny Park and Norfolk Co.’s have decreases to record. \ The advance payments for the live factories range from Is 4d per lb butter-fat to Is sd, two advancing the former amount and two the latter, while one is paying Is 4d. The companies paying Is 3d for January of this year were paying out in the vicinity of Is 6d during the previous January, while those paying Is 5d have increased the amount from Is 4d in each case. Tatua’s payment of Is 4d is identical with that made for a similar period last season. The following are the figures in detail, those for January, 1923, being given in parentheses:— MORRINSVILLE.
