. THE SHIELD COMPETITION. ! ' i Putaruru Lose s to Te Whetu. Selwyn Beats Waotu. The cricket competition for Jhe Leg gall Shield w :\.i advanced another stage during the week-end, when Te Whefu played Putaruru, at Putaruru, and Selwyn played Waotu, at Mangatap u. This represented the last match for the Putaruru club, which has now completed two rounds with each of the other clubs. Waotu and Te Whetu still have to play their postponed match, which may have to be followed by a final between Waotu and Selwyn, as the two leading teams, to decide which of these are the winners for the season.
