ATHLETIC SPORTS.

PUTARURU CLUB. A meeting of the Putaruru Athlet-'c Club was held in the supper-room of the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. The members present were:—Messrs. J. Barr Brown (chairman). 11. L Martin (.^c rotary), J. H. Mo ris. G. W. Brown and G. E. Martin. Several donations were received from the officers cf the club and were acknowledged by a vote of thanks to tbe A special subscription of £3 3;s was received from the patron. Mr. A. G. Leggc.lt, it to bo devoted for any purpose decided on by the club. It was agreed that, with Mr. Lcggatt’s consent, this amount also bo added to the prize money for the club’s sports on Easter Monday. A letter was received from the Northern Athletic Union confirming the allocation of Easter Monday for The Putaruru club’s sports. The programme for the sports as drawn up by the programme committee was submitted and adopted, the order of the events being altered somewhat to best suit competitors. Messrs. C. Wood gate and T. M. Harwood were appointed additional judges. It was resolved that the entries for the class'ical events close on Saturday, April 5, and that 111-2 secretary have the programmes printed forthwith. It was decided that the Putaruru hand be engaged for the sports and that a dance he held initlic Town Hall in the evening. It was resolved to ask Mr. H. C. Wheeler to act as the auditor for the past season’s balance-sheet.
