WAR MEMORIAL PARK.
ENTERTAINMENTS ARRANGED. A joint meeting of the management committee and the ladies’ committee of the Putaruru Bowling, Croquet and Tennis. Club was held last week, the club chairman, Mr. G. P. On the motion of the chairman a resolution of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr. W. P. Roberts was carried, the meeting standing* in silence. The chairman and other speakers referred to the staunch support Mr. Roberts had given the club and stated that his loss would bo keenly felt as time went on. Mr. T. F. Snell was elected a vice-president of the club, vice Mr. Roberts. The meeting '.resolved to hold a floral fete at the War Memorial Park next month, and a preliminary moonlight entertainment there this month, in aid of the funds of the club., and details for the moonlight function were Mrs. F. Phillips was elected a member of the ladies’ committee in the place of Miss Stark, who, it was reported,, had left the district. Two new lady members were elected to the club.
