Tennis is finding increased favour in Putaruru as the season advances, and last Saturday the courts on the War Memorial Park were well patronised. The players included several visitors from the Arapuni works. Owing to the objection of the Ohinemuri Jockey Club the Matamata Racing Club is unable to race on March 8, the date already approved by the New Zealand Racing Conference. A further meeting will need to be held to select another date, which will probably be in April.
