Commenting on the last two meetings of the Putaruru-Taupo Railway Board the interim secretary, Mr. W. C. Hewitt, stated that so far there had beer little to report as the board Had been able to accomplish very little. Tt had definitely resolved that it. would not consider the purchase of the Taupo Totara Timber Co.’s railway beyond the first 10 miles from Putaruru. It had. asked the company to put a price on this length and it •had also resolved to have the length valued. The eorrmany’s latest eom■'.'amrutdon, in reply to a letter sent in oec n uance with the instructions of the board at. its last meeting', was now to hand, and a further meeting of the board would be. held shortly to consider it.
