The latest ghost story (says the "Wanganui Chronicle) comes from Putiki. A lady relates an experience she had recently which at the time caused her some anxiety. She had sent her children to school, with the exception of the youngest member of the family. In view of the Aramoho happening’ she was a little anxious at being at home by herself, and to while away the time was singing her baby to sleep. There was a move' ment on the verandah which caused her some trepidation, and momentarily stopping her lullaby the patter of feet stopped also. She again commenced to sing*, and again the patter j of feet. The sitter was becoming 1 thoroughly anxious with the successive experience which continued from time to time, and received the shock I of her life when eventually an allwhite head peered round the door of the room at her.
