ALLEGED THEFT.

The circumstances generally seemed to point to the offence having been committed by someone acquainted with th: premises. The matter was upon discovery, immediately reported to the Matamata police, and as a result a youth was accosted on Wednesday by Constable Heeps and questioned with regard to the offence. Tt is understood that an admission -has been made and the money refunded. The lad will appear before 'he court at Matamata on January 20.
