Moose Nuts (supplied by the N.Z. Cattle Cake and Oil Co.. Endean’s buildings, Auckland), played an important part in establishing the Waikato record put up by Mr. R. J. Wil son of 3051 b of butter-fat in the 1022 23 season for his herd of 55 cows. This, we believe, is easily a Dominion record, too.* The Railway Department is now actively engaged in filling in the portion of the unsightly pond in Princes street. Putaruru, on the department’s side of the fence. The work has evidently been put in hand as a result of tlm representations in the matter by the riding councillor, Mr. E. T. Darby, and good progress is being* made with it.
