(Ter United Press Association.) FATAL BOAT ACCIDENT. Dunedin, Sept. 28. A boat left the Taieri beach on Saturday uiorning. The bar was rough when she crossed, but she was seen off Kuri ltnsh two hours later with only three men on her. The steer oar was found broken near Kuri. It is surmised that the steersman fell overboard. The boat came ashore at Taieri beach at 5.80 yesterday morning. One of the occupants, John Russell, len\es a wife and one child. The others were unmarried. FOOTBALL MATCH.
Auckland, Sept. 28. In the football match, Auckland v. On Saturday afternoen a distressing fatal accident occurred at the D&lefiehl nulling township, in the Wairarapa. A tail named Alfred Waterson, aged 18 years, the youngest son of Mr John Waterson, uas engaged assisting one of his brothers in erecting a wire fence. The brother hail nut a Ainumn£ pout in the hole and asked the la-1 Alfred to hold it. The |->st slipped, and in falling struck A 1 fred on the left temple, the blow knocked him down with the back of hi* bead an a sharp end of a stump of a tree and smashing it iu. The boy died ten minutes after the accident. CRIMINAL SESSION. At the request of the Counsel for accused the authorities have consented that the exhumation of Captain Cain's body at Timor.: shall take place m presence of the medical men not interested in the case. Possibly Profesaor Ovston will lie -oklll to watch the proceedings on behalf Vie Crow a Prosecutor.
