The steamship Sikh arrived at Cooktown from Hong Kong t-ia Port Darwin, where she shipped eighty returned diggers from the Kimberley district. The cargo includes eight hundred tons of tea for New Zealand. The steamship Menmuir also arrives! from Port Darwin with u hundred and eighty returned diggers. Mklbournk, Sept 7. The official rejiorts regarding the Kimberley district arc of n satisfactory character. There is stated to be i!000 men working on tho diggings. Private telegrams from Cambridge Gulf state that the roads from there to Kimberley are impassable.
