The total public debt umounts to £18,400,000. The revenue for the current financial year is estimated at £2,110,000, and the expenditure at £2,200,000. The total deficiency estimated is £B'l'2,ooo, which is to be covered by fresh taxation amounting to £109,000, including stamp taxes, expected to realise £66,000, and by a considerable reduction in the Civil Service.
