FOSSIL HUMAN FOOTPRINTS
Herr H. E. Low ha* obtained and forwardinl to the Imperial Museum in Vienna twelve large stone slab* bear ing the footprints discovered last year in the solid rock iu the quarry v*v« r I-ako Managua, in territory of Nicaragua. They ar.- about tlirecquariors of a metre square. They aan how be . in-pected by European geologists. The footprints arc sunk into the ate no to a depth of from right to ten centimetres. The *!•*■•■ tt.*,l( is jicrous volcanic tufa, atid tlie * ipen:: i ctimbent layers, which had been removed for building purposes, were all of a more or less solid volcanic conglomerate. The footprints ar.very conspicuous, and seetn to be those of tliret- de unot pewsotis, one of whom was a child.
