England’s Defence.
COMPULSORY SERVICE. London, April 9. The National Service League, in a manifesto signed by Lord Roberts, Viscount Milner, and others, recommend Mr Haldane, Minister for War, not to wait until a crisis occurs before giving the territorial forces half a year’s training,' The League urge the Minister to endeavour to make such training at once compulsory on all able-bodied males old enough for military service.
