A Church Trouble.

Wanganui, April 9. The Rev. Mr Jacobs, of Hawera, who is at present in Wellington with the inten i n of proceeding to the Old Country, h Veen offered, and has accepted, the vicar-sAp tf the Parish of Wanganui, rendered vacant by the death of the Rev. Mr Mac Lean. There is a strong feeling among the parishioners here at the filling of the vacancy, as a strong petition signed by over 500 was presented to the nominators asking for the appointment as acting-vicar of the Rev. Mr Ward. It is stated, that many more would have signed if time had permitted. The nominators ignored the petition, and there is likely to be trouble.
