PICTON HOSPITAL BOARD.
- * The monthly meeting of the Pieton Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was hold on Wednesday afternoon, there being present Messrs D’Arcy Ohaytor (in the chair), H. A. Simmonds, N, Bragg, G. J. Riddell, W. J. Cullen, and W. Price. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. 0. Chayfcor (Chairman) and H. Weaver. The Secretary was instructed to write Home for particulars in respect to tho ages of several men who desired to obtain the old-age pension. Tho Now Zealand Acetylene Gas Company’s tender of £SO was accepted for installing fcbe gas fittings at tho Pieton Hospital. The Secretary was instructed to notify tho Wairau Hospital Board that tho necessary forms in connection with the patients from this district who had been treated at tho Wairau Hospital had not been received, and that the Pieton Board would not entertain the accounts. The tender of Messrs Miles and McCormick for general supplies during the ensuing twelve months was accepted. The Secretary of the Havelock Cottage Hospital Committee submitted his usual report, which contained the following:The Committee recommend that further accommodation be made at the Hospital, and think that two rooms, at least, should be added to tho building.” A long discussion ensued on this matter, but no motion was brought forward. Accounts amounting to £IG2 7s 4d were passed for payment. -- Pieton Press.
