KIA ORA CLUB. Owing to the inclemency of the weather the annual meeting of the Kia Ora (Canvastown) Hockey Club had to be postponed, and will be held about the first week after Easter. Mr A. Dillon has kindly presented a silver cup for competition between the three district Clubs-namely, Kia Ora, Takorika, and Havelock Suburban. Before becoming the property of any Club the cup has to be won by them twice in successive years or three times at intervals. Very keen interest is being taken in the coming contests for the Cup. The Kia Ora team contemplate visiting Nelson during this season, and should make a good show against the City teams there. TAKORIKA CLUB. There was a fair attendance at this Club's annual meeting, held at the Pavilion on Saturday. Rev. Mr Stace presided. Mr Stace was re-elected President and Miss Elsie Gwillim was again appointed Secretary. Miss Gwillim's enthusiasm and capability were eulogised. The election of a Captain was held over till the opening day, but Miss Kreig was appointed Deputy-Captain. The following Committee were elected :—Misses K. Reader, L. Orsman, Alma Scott, Watson, and Powell. It was decided to open the season on Thursday, 18th April, and to invite the members of the Kia Ora and Suburban Clubs to the function.
