The Wanpranui Cup was won by Dudu, Kay's Wakatipu coming second. On the second, <kv the Wanganui JJerby was wonby Gollan's Tirailleur, and the Wan<ranui Stakes by Hilda, Dudu being second. Stead's Medallion won the Maiden Plate at Melbourne. The Australian Cup resulted as follows :~r Hon J. White's Dreadnought ... 1 Mr #. Gannon's Melos . r , vt 2 Mr Kiy's Stir William ... ~, 3 Eleven started, and race was won by half a bead, " Dreadnought also wou the Melbourne St, Leger easily,
The Autumn Handicap at the same meeting was won by Stead's Scots Grey, and the Champion Stakes, for wh'ch only four started, resulted thus:—* W. Gannon's Melos I Hon J. White's Dreadnought ... 2 Mr Wallace's Carbine 3 Carbine was blocked in the straight, and Melos won by a length and a half.
