A somewhat singular accident happened to Edward Dewar, proprietor of a traction engine and threshing mill, who was campingo ut for the night, and had disconnected the travelling gear, when the engine, being on an incline, started off with the mid behind it, and soon had attained a great speed. Dewar stuck to the engine until it capsized, and, with the mill, was completely wrecked. Dewar was severely crushed. One rib was severed from his backbone, and three others were crushed.
