(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, December 9. John G. Watkin, who has hitherto held a respectable position as a builder, was committed for trial yesterday for forging a promissory note for He subsequently wrote to the person who cashed the note acknowledging his guilt. Blenheim, December 9. Charles Bell was committed for trial yesterday for attempting to commit an unnatural offence. Bail was allowed, but not forthcoming, Dunedin, December 9. A child named Mackie was drowned at Mosgiel on Saturday, by falling into a creek.
