The Bishop and the Bar.
[Own Correspondent.] Dunelin, November 6. The Episcopalian Synod was opened last evening. The Bishop referred briefly to the case of Mr. R. L. Stanford, who had resigned his license to practise the law. The Bishop said he had waved his intention of ceremonially degrading Mr. Stanford, as he had found there was a great conflict of opinion as to the wisdom of that step, and therefore, at the cost of some violence to his conscience he had determined to let the matter rest.
