[Own Correspondent.] Wellington, November 5, Mr. Montgomery intends going to England after the close of the session, returning shortly before the next session. The Hinemoa left yesterday afternoon with Lady and Miss Jervois and suite for Lyttelton. The Governor will follow after the prorogation of Parliament, A boat belonging to the steamer Hauraki was seized yesterday by the Customs for not having the name of the ship and the port painted on it, but a satisfactory explanation having been given the boat was released. At a meeting of the Middle Island members on Monday it to memorialise Government to have the next volunteer prize contest at Christchurch. There was a large preponderance of Canterbury and Otago members at the meeting.
