[Reuter’s Telegrams.] Sydney, October 31. In the Legislative Assembly last night the Convention resolutions were brought up for discussion. Sir John Robertson moved the previous question, which was carried by 22 votes to 21, after a lengthy debate which lasted until midnight. A due proportion of the cost of the establishing of a protectorate over New Guinea, will however be paid by this Colony, The prorogation will take place to-morrow. The Bank of New South Wales has declared a dividend for the past half-year at the rate of 15 per cent, per annum, with a bonus of 2| per cent., and carries £lO,OOO to the reserve.
