LlTTßß.—There is now lying in the Post Office at Frasertown a letter directed in a clerkly hand to “ the late Charles Llyod, Frasertown.” Perhaps some spiritualistic medium would undertake to convey the mosiftge, Th* Post.—ln a recent passage of arms between Sir Julius Vogel and Mr. Wakefield, the former referred in sarcastic terms to the fact of the latter’s speeches being fully reported in his own paper, even at times when the barest mention was made of the speeches delivered by other members. Such has certainly been the case, but the egotism may be forgiven when we bear in mind that the said speeches are generally if not always, exceeding clever and readable. There are Other instances, however, in which a similar policy is pursued, when the views enunciated are neither brilliant nor particularly readable. Take, for instance, the way in which the sentiments of the Wellington Evening Post are forced upon the attention of Auckland newspaper readers. One would fancy there there was no other paper in the Empire City, pay after day we are told, “ the Post says this,” and “ the Post says that. No doubt Post is inspired with the vain idea that what it says is of immense importance, when in reality, the said Post, like a good many other posts, is an ordinary stick Meed.’—Auckland Free Lance,
