Auckland News.

[Own Correspondent.] Auckland, October 31. The action of the City Council in erecting a small-pox hospital in the Domain is causing a great deal of indignation in the city. Professor Martin Swallow was apprehended last evening for indecent exposure, while in company with an idiotic man named McLean, who was only discharged from gaol recently. The case is being heard at the Police Court to-day. The rowing season will open to-morrow with a procession of boats. The firing for Captain Clarke’s belt will take place ta-morrow between the volunteers.
