The Soudan War.
[reuter’s telegrams.] Cairo, October 17. Intelligence has been received from the Soudan that many tribes are deserting from the Mahdi, but that at the same time others hitherto loyal are joining his ranks. General Gordon is sending a considerable force to occupy Berber, recently retaken from the rebels.
