[Per United Press Association.] Napier, October 18. Chiarini’s circus and menagerie opened this afternoon in Clive Square. There will be another exhibition in the evening. Mr. Jones, over 20 years foreman of works at Lyttelton gaol, and the oldest gaol official in the Colony, died yesterday. It is supposed his death was hastened by grief at the loss of his son who was drowned 18 months ago.
