Marine Engineer's Wages.
(Own correspondent.] Auckland, October 6. There is some excitement amongst the marine engineers with reference to the appearance here of a delegate from the Sydney Engineering Society. It is asserted that the object of the delegate’s visit is to secure a general rise in wages. It is also stated that several local engineers employed on the coastal steamships have been threatened because they declined to accede to the wishes of the visitor.
