[ Wellington, October 3. A deputation from the New Zealand Rifle Association waited on Mr. Ballance yesterday urging Government not to divide the vote for prize firing between the two Islands. Mr. Ballance said it had been represented to him that the South Island was unanimous for dividing the vote. After much discussion Major Baillie undertook to ascertain the views of the Auckland, Thames, and other volunteering centres, on the question of division.
