Serious Practical Joke
[Own Correspondent.] Christchurch, October 2. A bogus telegram was received yesterday by Rattray and Co., Agents for the Imperial Insurance Association, to the effect that Bruce’s large mill at Timaru had been destroyed by fire, and that Bruce had drowned himself in the lagoon. The matter is in the hands of the police.
