[Own Correspondent.] Auckland, September 23. Mr. Howard Vincent, late Director of Criminal Investigations, London, arrived here with Mrs. Vincent by the San Francisco Mail steamer on Saturday. Mr. Vincent having married a rich heiress, intends seeking election to the British Parliament, and to qualify himself for the position he is making a tour of the world. He will travel through New Zealand, spending some time in Wellington, then proceeding to the Australian Colonies. He will also visit New Caledonia to examine the working of the convict system, and thence proceed to Batavia.
