Fatal Railway Accident.

[Per Press Association.] Nelson, September 20. A woman named Mercer, who kept the Travellers Rest Hotel, at Appleby, was killed on the railway line at 8.30 this morning. The down train from Belgrove was nearing the railway crossing, and when the engine was within a few yards the unfortunate woman attempted to cross the line, the result being that she was struck by the engine and killed instantaneously.
