Franco-Chinese War.
[Reuter’s Telegrams.) Paris, September IG. The Temps announces in to-day’s issue that the majority of the French troops now serving in Tunis will be recalled at an early date. Hong Kong, September 17. Intelligence has been received here that a force of 2,000 French troops recently landed at Kinpai and engaged a large body of Chinese who were defending the place. Heavy fighting proceeded for some time, but the Chinese were ultimately defeated with a severe loss, and fled from the place which is now occupied by the French.
