It is stated that the analysis of the contents of the stomach of the infant alleged to have beep murdered by its mother (Rosina Smith) has not revealed anything to throw light on the case. Dunedin, September 8. John Milner, an old identity, died on Saturday from a paralytic stroke. Deceased was an auctioneer, and highly respected. Eight boys, whose ages ranged from 10 to 15, were charged on Saturday with stealing 30 ducks, which they disposed of to Chinese. Two of them, who had been previously convicted for larceny, were sentenced to a month and fourteen days’ hard labor respectively. The first offenders were discharged.
