[Reuter’s Telegrams.] London, August 29. The shipment of frozen meat by the steamship Garonne, from Australia, arrived in good condition. August 30. Sixty-three deaths from cholera occurred in Italy one day last week. The Austrian Government will shortly despatch four cruisers round the world to seek for opening up of trade with that country. One of the vessels will visit Australia and the Pacific.
It is reported that the intended postal conference to be held at Libson has been postponed until February next, owing to the outbreak of cholera. Several of the Invincibles, who were expelled from the colonies some little time ago, are living in Banda Oriental (Uruguay), South America. The French troopship Aveyron has been been totally wrecked at Cape Guardafin. All on board were rescued. The New Zealand Land Corporation will pay their creditors in full, also returning £5 on paid-up shares. Sir Stafford Northcote and Lord Carnarvon have addressed over 100,000 Tories at Wakefield. August 30. Arrived—Ship Mataura, with a cargo of 6,000 carcases of frozen mutton, from the Bluff (May 12).
