SMALL-POX INCREASING. [Reuter’s Telegrams] . Melbourne, August 31. Arrived this morning—The P. and O. steamship Rome, with the Brindisi mails dated London, July 25th. September 1. Mr. Service, Premier and Colonial Treasurer, has agreed to Mr. Griffith’s proposal for a uniform import duty of three shillings per gallon on colonial wine. Sydney, September 1. Arrived this moaning—The steamship Manapouri. Small-pox is increasing in Sydney and the suburbs. Fresh cases have occurred in Kent street, in the city, and at the Glebe. The patients have been placed in quarantine.
