[Per Press Association] . Auckland, August 22. An inquest was held yesterday on the body of the infant Emily Wilson, alleged to have been murdered by its mother, Rosina Emily Smith. After taking a mass of evidence the Coroner adjourned the case till to-day. Christchurch, August 22. The death is announced by cable of John W. Oram, formerly landlord of the Royal Hotel. He died at Midsomer Norton, on August 18. Wellington, August 22. A four-roomed unoccupied cottage at Carterton, owned by Thomas Sparks, was burnt last night. Insured for £75 in the Victoria.
