(Per Press Association.) ESCAPE FROM GAOL. THE DUNEDIN BABY SHOW. FORGED NOTES. Wellington, August 22. A telegram from Ohinemutu states that a Native prisoner, Mohi Nati, is reported to have escaped from Tauranga gaol. Dunedin, August 22. The Tongairiro will take 9000 frozen sheep from Dunedin. The show of children up to seven years old was held yesterday in connection with the Industrial Exhibition. There were over 70 entries each of boys and girls. A special prize was given to the mother with the most children alive for number of years married. It was taken by Mrs. Wallace, who had been eight years and three months married, and had seven children. The Dunedin police have received intimation that forged notes of the Union Bank of Australia are again in circulation. There was a very heavy fall of snow last night. Christchurch, August 22. The Stanmore electors, it is said, purpose burning their member in effigy. They also have sent him by steamer a rat trap. Oamaru, August 22. There was a slight fall of snow this morning. The weather is intensely cold.
