The great Mormon Temple at SJt Lake, which has been twenty-eight years in hand, is now approaching completion. The walls arc 8 ft. thick and 85 ft. high. It lias already cost nearly a million sterling. At Ambrose’s Barn, on the borders of the 1 horp, near Chertsey, resides a farmer, Mr. ’* upshot, whose ancestors have dwelt ou the same spot ever since the time of Alfred the Great, by whom the farm was granted to Reginald Wapshot.
