The New Ministry.
[from our own correspondent.] Wellington, August 12. Nothing definite is yet known as regards the portfolio for a Northern member in the Ministry. Mr. Hamlin, who was mentioned as likely to fill the position, denies it in toto, and states that it was only done to prejudice him in obtaining office as Chairman of Committees. Colonel Fraser is now spoken of, and it is believed there is some foundation for the rumor. Later. The result of the caucus of Members, which was held this morning to consider the formation of the new Ministry, is not yet fully made known. At the meeting a strong objection was expressed to Mr. Stout as Premier, and it is surmised that Sir Julius Vogel will himself take that Portfolio. Much opposition was made to Messrs. Montgomery and Macandrew, and there is a strong probability of the Vogel Ministry, as at present constituted, being ousted. Another caucus meeting will be held this nfh»rnn'nn
