HANSARD APPOINTMENTS. SIR JULIUS VOGEL. [Per United Press Association.] Wellington, August 9. Mr. J. L. Kinsella, of the New Zealand Herald, has been appointed Committee reporter in the room of Mr. George Adams, who has been promoted to the Hansard staff. Mr. Spragg, formerly of the Otago Daily Times, lias filled the vacancy on the Hansard staff, caused by the resignation of Mr. Draker.
In the House yesterday Sir Julius Vogel had to take the oath seated in a chair in which he still has to wheel himself about. The statement that Mr. J. D. Ormond had been summoned by the Governor and recommended Sir Julius Vogel is denied. Later.—Sir Julius Vogel had a long interview with the Governor this morning, and it is understood that he has accepted the task of forming a Government. Sir Julius Vogel is now in consultation with Mr. Stout.
Latest.—His Excellency the Governor, this moming, sent for Sir Julius Vogel, and the latter is now engaged forming a Ministry. Mr. Stout has accepted office under Sir Julius Vogel.
