ARREST OF A LEVANTER. THE BEACONSFIELD BANK ROBBERY. [Reuter’s Telegrams.] Hobart, August 8. William Poppens, of Wellington, an absconding hotel-keeper, has been arrested here. Two prisoners, charged with robbing the bank at Beaconsfield, have been discharged. Four others have been admitted to bail.
[Per Association Telegtmms.] Wellington, August 9. At the inquest on the body of Albert Bellman, found dead on the Ngawharanga beach, an open verdict was returned.
