R. M. COURT, GISBORNE.
THIS DAY. (Before J. Booth, Esq., R.M.) Civil Business. Brassey & Fraser v. Pene Heihi. Claim £9 16s. bill of costs. Mr. Nolan for plaintiff. No appearance of the defendant. Judgment for the amount claimed with costs 48s. W. Brassey v. D. Gough. Claim £7 14s. 6d. bill of costs. No appearance of defendant. Mr. Nolan for plaintiff. Judgment for the amount claimed with costs £1 14s. R. M. Steggall v. A. Gillice. Claim £9 12s. on a judgment summons. No appearance of defendant. An order was made that the amount be paid on or before this day month, in default eleven days imprisonment. S. M. Wilson v. Wi Pere. Claim £5 2s. 6d. for goods. Mr. Nolan for plaintiff and Mr. Whitcombo for defendant. Mr. Whitcombs explained that this case had been ’ adjourned from last Court day in order to allow the plaintiff to supply the defendant with further particulars. Mr. Nolan said this could not be done as some of the books had been destroyed during a fire which occurod some time back. The plaintiff was called and proved that fmtlier particulars could not be rendered owing to the fire at the Masonic Hotel about six years ago, when his books were removed from his hotel and lost. Mr. Whitcombe asked that the charges made for drinks supplied be struck out, as they were not legal. Mr. Nolan submitted that chaig 8 over a pound could be claimed. His Worship gave judgment for the amount claimed, less £1 Is. 6.1. the amount of the drinks, with costs £2.
