' reuter’s telegrams.] SEVENTEEN PERSONS DROWNED. London, August 4. A collision occurred to-day in the Thames, near Giavesend, between the two steamships Dione and Canden. The former suffered such injury that she sank in a few minutes, and seventeen persons on board were drowned.
