[Per Association Telegrams,] FINDING A MEDICINE CHEST. Invercargill, August 1. D. Walker, a miner of Orepuke, while working in a beach claim there on Tuesday, picked up a ships medicine chest with “ Marie Augo ” painted on it. No wreckage has been seen by the district constable, who went in search. The barque Marie Augo, Captain Webb, 275 tons, left Newcastle for Port Chalmers on the Bth ult. and was spoken on the following. INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION. Dunedin, August 4. An Industrial Exhibition was opened on Saturday by his Worship the Mayor, and was well attended. The exhibits are principally such as have been shown here before. MIMIC PARLIAMENT. A mimic Parliament was opened here very successfully on Saturday night. Mr. Robert Stout enacted the part of the Governor, and opened the session with an address. REFRIGERATING COMPANY. The Dunedin Refrigerating Company have declared a 10 per cent, dividend, and a return to shippers of three pence per sheep. PARIHAKA. Wellington, August 4. Ninety Natives belonging to Waitara and the North left Parihaka on their return home yesterday.
