Colonial Bank.
HALF-YEARLY MEETING. (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, July 81. At the half-yearly meeting of the Colonial Bank yesterday, E. B. Cargill, Esq., presided, and said in reference to figures in the report [previously telegraphed] they would see that the position of the Bank accounts for the past six months compared in many respects very favorably with previous occasions. Referring to the failure of the Oriental Bank, there was nothing to indicate that the confi■dence of the public in this and other Banks was shaken.
The report, which recommended a dividend of 7 per cent, was adopted unanimously. Messrs. J. T. Wright and J. M. Ritchie were elected directors.
